Почетный военный пенсионер, который почти добровольно уступил городу часть своей территории для постройки на ней городской грязелечебницы на Андреевском (Куяльницком) лимане. Гора, точнее холм, получила название в честь него. Кстати, улица Княжеская названа тоже в его честь.
