On the morning of 14 September, Ukrainian naval drones attacked and damaged two Russian patrol vessels, the «Vasily Bykov» and the «Sumum», near the Bay of Sevastopol. Ukrainian «Sea Baby» drones hit both ships, causing significant damage and slowing them down. The Russians had to tow the «Sumum» for repairs, with a large trim to the stern and a list to starboard, which was soon confirmed. The «Vasily Bykov» could not hide from witnesses of her brave tow back to Sevastopol harbour.
For this attack, the SBU used an experimental model of a maritime drone that can operate in a storm and hide from detection behind high waves. During the special operation, the wave height reached 1.5-2m.
