On the night of 14 June, the Russians attacked Odessa. One of the missiles landed in the shopping centre of Shevchenkovskiy. The explosion was so loud that it could be heard all over the city. The blast shattered glass not only in nearby buildings, but also in houses a kilometre from the epicentre. There were no fatalities. Six people were injured. In general, the buildings in the vicinity of Building 21 were damaged, including the buildings of the National Polytechnic University, the recently opened McDonald's restaurant, the bank building, the building of School No. 35, the building of the Odessa Film Studio and many high-rise residential buildings. There would have been many more victims if the strike had moved a hundred metres towards an apartment block. The unique Odessa Science Museum, which children loved to visit, was also damaged in the Business Centre building.
Another day of mourning was declared in Odessa on 15 June. Two days after mourning was declared in Odessa on 11 June for those killed in the crash of the wreckage of the Iranian Shahed, another terrorist act of intimidation against Ukraine took place.
