On the night of the 13th of September, the Ukraine launched a combined attack on the ship repair plant in the occupied Crimea in Sevastopol. The attack took place on one of the most heavily protected objects in the Crimean peninsula. In addition to 10 missiles and three drones, several naval drones are also involved in the attack. The strike hit the dry dock where the «Minsk» landing ship and the «Rostov-on-Don» diesel submarine were located. As a consequence, the Russian landing ship was almost completely destroyed, the submarine suffered a little less damage, but it will not return to service soon, if ever. The shipyard itself was also badly damaged. Sevastopol authorities report 2 dead and 26 injured.
It is interesting to note that the BDK «Minsk» and the diesel-electric submarine «Rostov-on-Don» were in dry dock undergoing repairs. These repairs were almost completed. For example, the completion of the repairs of the diesel-electric submarine was scheduled for the end of October. The submarine was intended for active use in missile attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure. It was destroyed and cannot be repaired. The situation is similar to the BDK «Minsk». The ship was practically repaired. In other words, this was all at the same time as the completion of the repairs, which was even more of a financial loss for Russia.

There is no clear information about the victims. Some Russian media report the deaths of shipyard workers, while others claim that none of the workers died. Russian media also differ on the number of victims. It is very likely that there are many more dead and injured, but the authorities are trying to hide it.
